Fluke 179/EDA2 Electronics True RMS Multimeter Combo Kit
The Fluke 179/EDA2 Electronics True RMS Multimeter Combo Kit consists of the Fluke 179 Digital Multimeter plus a range of handy accessories including test leads, heavy-duty hook clips, a type K thermocouple, electronic test probes with replacement tips and a soft carry case.
The Fluke 179 itself is an incredibly versatile multimeter which can measure a range of variables including AC/DC voltage (1000V), AC/DC current (10A), resistance (50MΩ), capacitance (10,000µF), frequency (100kHz), and temperature (-40˚C to 400˚C). True RMS measurement makes readings on AC values more representative of real outputs and the multimeter boasts excellent accuracy and precision. Continuity and diode testing are also possible with the Fluke 179.
Various range options for every parameter - selected automatically or manually - ensure precision and results are clearly shown on the Fluke 179’s backlit digital screen via both a digital readout and an analogue bar graph. Display hold and auto hold allow readings to be frozen on screen, smoothing mode helps stabilise readings, and min/max/avg recording provides depth in measurement.
The test leads in the Fluke 179/EDA2 Kit have silicone insulation which allows them to stay supple in cold weather whilst staying resistant to heat and the hook probes allow the user to reach into less accessible places. The electronic test leads with narrow probes are suited to performing tests on electronic equipment and the thermocouple enables contact surface temperature measurement.
All the accessories and the Fluke 179 itself can fit into the supplied soft carry case alongside the instruction booklets. A magnetic TPAK hanger allows the meter to be attached to a wall for hands free use. The safety rating is Cat IV 600V / Cat III 1000V and the battery life is roughly 400 hours.
