Fluke 2052 Advanced Wire Tracer and Cable Locator Kit

The Fluke 2052 Advanced Wire Tracer and Cable Locator Kit allows technicians to locate both energised and de-energised wires quickly and accurately in walls, ceilings and floors up to CAT IV 600V. Designed to protect the user from dangerous levels of transient over voltage up to 8000V that can occur in industrial and utility environments. Within the kit, everything a user needs to trace wires and circuits is included. The accessory kit includes test leads, test probes, blade and round outlet adaptors, and alligator clips that connect the transmitter to electrical systems. Also included in the kit is the Fluke i400 current clamp that can be used with the loop mode that induces a boosted 6kHz signal through the insulation.

Using the Fluke 2052, users can find breaks or opens and shorts in a wide range of environments top find faults in electrical wiring and equipment. The different ,modes and functions of the Fluke 2052 allow for a wide range of electrical wiring and circuit problems that may be encountered.

Fluke 2052

The Fluke 2052 receiver can detect a signal in wires and cables using two methods:passive tracing without the transmitter for non contact voltage detection and active tracing with the transmitter for all other modes. The tip on the receiver allows for tracing of tight spaces, orders and junction boxes. With a 2.5in colour LCD screen, the Fluke 2052 also has a backlight allowing for use even in dark conditions. The Fluke 2052 is IP40 rated and drop tested to 1m. The Fluke 2052 Advanced Wire Tracer and Cable Locator Kit also includes a hard transport case offering protection for the kit during storage and transportation. .

The 2052 has four receiver tracing modes:

  • Quick Scan Mode: Quick scan mode allows for energised wire detection and visualisation displayed on the colour LCD screen
  • Precision Mode: Precision more provides a more accurate detection of a wire
  • Beaker Mode: Using Beaker Mode users can easily identify the breaker and fuse based on the highest recorded signal detected from the transmitter.
  • Non-Contract Voltage Detection Mode: using then in contact voltage detection mode energised wires can be traced with the use of the transmitter

Powered by 4 x AA batteries users are able to use the Fluke 2052 for up to 16 hours with a battery indicator giving clear indication if battery power is low.

Fluke 2000-T Transmitter

The Fluke 2000-T Transmitter works on both energised and de-energised circuits up to CAT IV 600V and provides users with three different modes: high, low and loop modes. Using the modes, the strength of the induced signal which can provide more accurate results dependant on the circuit being traced.

  • High Mode is used for both normal energised and de-energised circuits
  • Low mode can be used for precision tracing with a low signal which reduces the coupling to nearby wires and metal objects.
  • Loop mode is used for closed loop de-energised circuits.

When using the 2000-T, the instrument will automatically sense whether the system is energised or de-energised and will select a 6kHz or 33kHz output frequency. With eight receiver sensitivity levels providing more flexibility and accuracy when tracing.
