The Fluke SmartTrace™ AF2082 A-Frame Cable Ground Fault Locator is a specialised accessory that, when used with compatible Fluke underground utility locator systems, helps technicians locate faults in underground cables by measuring voltage gradients in the ground and pinpointing damaged cables faster and with greater accuracy.
The AF2082 makes it easy to reduce the cost and downtime associated with finding underground cable faults, minimise service disruptions, and limit extensive excavation by guiding operators directly to the fault point. Simply insert the A-Frame probes into the ground and follow the measured signal
gradient to determine exactly where insulation breakdown or cable damage is occurring. Its sensitivity allows fault detection up to 2 MΩ, while a 1.28‑inch outdoor‑readable LCD with automatic backlight provides immediate visual guidance along with clear audio indications that pulse or tone depending on the left or right direction.
