Trend SignalTEK 10G
The Trend SignalTEK 10G is built to be the ultimate solution for quickly troubleshooting ethernet connectivity issues and unearthing systems responsible for any bottlenecks within a network. As services such as video streaming, video conferencing, Wi-Fi access points and CCTV become more prevalent, the demand for bandwidth increases exponentially every day. Users can test, troubleshoot & document network and data cable performance up to 10 Gigabits per second, all while measuring the maximum bandwidth available of the network and unearthing opportunities to increase bandwidth without replacing expensive data cabling.
With the Trend SignalTEK 10G, verify Multi-Gigabit switch upgrades to 1/2.5/5 and 10Gb/s speeds. Before spending money on expensive new cabling, this instrument will ascertain what can be supported on the existing network infrastructure. Using the max throughput test, users can clearly see what applications or hardware are suitable, reducing the cost of unnecessary replacements and expensive down time. The Trend 10G includes such features as wiremap, distance to fault, cable tracing (with compatible probe) and Pass/Fail copper testing to IEEE standards.
PoE Testing
Eliminate PoE guesswork by using the SignalTEK 10G, no more testing trial and error as the device accurately measures the precise maximum power available. As more and more applications adopt PoE (monitors, phones and security cameras etc.) to ensure successful operation technicians have had to understand all of the various standards, outputs and cable lengths. The 10G automatically identifies the class of the PoE source and power available up to 90W (PoE++) regardless of the aforementioned factors. Verifying these installations with a clear Pass/Fail result in line with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards. Users can test all PoE classes (0-8) and types, identifying the powered pairs and determining whether the power is from a switch or mid-span injector. For switches which provide power exceeding their class rating, the included extended power test measures the maximum available power up to 90 watts.
Fibre Testing
Cable length and signal loss can negatively impact fibre link speed, the Trend SignalTEK 10G features a speed test which confirms the connection is 1G or 10G. It can then troubleshoot fibre cable issues, comparing the Tx & Rx optical power against the expected power level. If the connector is damaged or dirty the 10G will determine the attenuation in a fibre link. Users can measure SFP temperature and perform a max throughput test proving the available bandwidth up to 10Gb/s. Results are displayed in an easy-to-understand traffic light system indicating good, marginal or poor power levels based on IEEE 802.3 1G/10G limits.
Network Testing
The SignalTEK 10G can also function as a network tester for maintenance and troubleshooting, compatible with both active & passive, fibre or copper networks. For detailed network parameter inspections the incorporated autotest button will display port & network summary information, whilst the automatic VLAN ID detection feature provides the user with a way to configure the device for use on a VLAN. Engineers can display a list of all IP and MAC address connected to a network and provide port information using Cisco Discovery Protocol (CPD), Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) and Extreme Discovery Protocol (EDP). Wiremap templates for common Ethernet cables are provided alongside those for non-ethernet cables such as ISDN and Profinet.
Included with the Trend SignalTEK is a 72 hour event log, creating an extremely easy method for discovering rogue devices and intermittent issues which may have been missed with a shorter observation time. This feature will aid in diagnosing connectivity issues quicker and reduce needless manual activity onsite. Capturing network events down to the second over a 72 hour period, leave the tester onsite, connect remotely and view the event log all from a separate location.
Test Management Software
Connect the Trend SignalTEK 10G seamlessly through built-in Wi-Fi to the FREE AnyWARE Cloud Test management system. Highly useful for reducing the time needed to prepare customer reports, this system allows for real time collaboration between Project Managers and Field Technicians by using TeamViewer to troubleshoot failed links. Eliminate potential mistakes by relieving the need for Field Technicians to setup the SignalTEK 10G as it can be pre-configured prior to a job. Compatible with PC, Mac and tablet devices (iOS & Android), this cloud software offers free storage with no need for backup systems and is operable from anywhere with a web browser.
The TREND AnyWARE Test Management Software is extremely user-friendly, with intuitive menu layouts making it easy to find project files with all drawings, videos and photos attached. With this system, share links to test reports rather than manage excessively large email attachments and gain access to WalkME, a digital adoption platform which provides a step-by-step walkthrough on all key tasks.
Maintain and protect your SignalTEK 10G and job data with AnyWARE's included Fleet Management feature, see who has the instrument, when it was last updated and the last time the results were synced. Proof of performance PDF reports can be customised with any customer logos, address and contact details being added automatically. These reports are available in two formats; Summary Reports with multiple tests per page and Detailed Reports which include a more comprehensive writeup with one test per page. Due to the SignalTEK 10G's label printer connectivity, these reports can be generated from either the TREND AnyWARE Cloud or the SignalTEK itself.
Physical Features
In conjunction with the impressive internal resources, the Trend SignalTEK 10G also boasts a comprehensive list of external features designed to improve efficiency. The simplified user interface is displayed on a high resolution, impact resistant touch screen with both screen and ports protected by a rugged outer casing. Audible tones assist the user while testing and can be used as partner finder; when connected to the remote unit a distinct noise will be heard and visible indication given on screen. With label printer and Wi-Fi connectivity, easily send label IDs to printers and connect to the AnyWARE cloud management system. For transferring test data a USB connection is incorporated and reports can be generated directly from the SignalTEK 10G.
