Since the acquisition of Programma in 2007, Megger has since manufactured the established MOM series of micro-ohmmeters.
Designed for checking and measuring contact resistances of high voltage isolators, busbar joints and circuit breakers, the Megger (Programma) MOM200A micro-ohmmeter will output DC currents of up to 200A in order to provide extremely accurate resistance measurements as low as one Micro-Ohm.
The Megger MOM200A can also output 100A of DC current for extended periods of time, which makes it a perfect instrument for diagnosing high resistance, poor electrical connections.
Available as both 115V and 230V models and with or without test leads and transport case (please select the correct model from the drop down list above), the Megger MOM200A is also very portable weighing in at around 14kg; very convenient for transporting between electrical substations and industrial environments.
Why test resistance at such a low value?
If the contact resistance on a high current electrical joint is too high, temperature rises and power loss are inevitable leading to a host of problems such as overheating joints and electrical equipment failure.
