Metrel CS2890 Power Calibrator/Simulator

The Metrel CS2890 Power Calibrator/Simulator is a multifunction, four-phase instrument that is designed to allow the user to adjust and calibrate Metrel Class A and Class S power quality analysers.

The Metrel CS2890 can act as a simple waveform generator and can simulate voltages across four channels up to 350V RMS. Similarly, it is capable of simulating current across four channels up to 2000A and both voltage and current can be simulated simultaneously, thereby allowing signals via eight channels with 16-bit digital to analogue conversion for increased accuracy. Voltage and current stability stands at an impressive ±0.06% whilst substandard voltmeter control can be used to make fine adjustments of calibration points.

As a power simulator, the Metrel CS2890 can recreate voltage events such as dip, swell, interrupt, and signalling. It can also simulate inrush current conditions, harmonic waveforms, unbalanced waveforms, square flicker, and multiple character load/character type (inductive/capacitive) combinations.

The Metrel CS2890 is easy to use thanks to its intuitive, menu-driven interface and touchscreen navigation. Settings are saved when the calibrator is switched off so there is no need to manually re-enter everything when the device is next used. The calibrator is a fantastic instrument for those looking to demonstrate their PQA range to potential customers and for teachers who are instructing students about power quality phenomena.

The Metrel CS2890 is powered by 6 rechargeable AA batteries and comes supplied with five voltage leads, a special power supply cable for voltage offset measurement, four current testing leads, labels for colour coding, a power supply adaptor, six rechargeable AA batteries, a soft carry case, a USB cable, an instruction manual, and a calibration certificate.
