Metrel MI 3288 Earth Insulation Tester

The Metrel MI 3288 Earth Insulation Tester is a portable, battery powered tester able to measure earth resistance, specific earth resistance (Wenner & Schlumberger method), earth potential, step and touch voltages, insulation resistance and continuity of protection conductors. With its vast array of testing functionalities, the MI 3288 is a truly versatile instrument that is able to perform all of the main types of earth test and measurement.

In addition to the aforementioned testing functionalities, the MI 3288 also offers 4-wire earth resistance measurement, TRMS current measurement and one clamp or two clamp earth resistance measurement. Programmable auto sequences are also a feature of this unit alongside support for single or automated measurements. For users safety, a high degree of protection is also offered when using the device, with over voltage protection category 600 V CAT II/300 V CAT III at 4000M above sea level.

The MI 3288 is also convenient to use, with a number of design features intended to promote an intuitive user experience. The large tactile buttons control a simple grid user interface. The 4.3” colour LCD display is touchscreen, with results clearly visible due to the powerful backlight. Bluetooth enables communication with external devices, with results able to be downloaded to PC with the help of Metrel ED Manager software, enabling further evaluation and reporting of collected data.

Common applications for the MI 3288 include initial/installation testing and periodic testing of domestic or industrial installations, in addition to small buildings and mining facilities.

The Metrel MI 3288 is a great addition to the MI tester range.
