Metrel MI3155 EurotestXD DC Rapid Charge EVSE Test Kit

The Metrel MI3155 EurotestXD DC Rapid Charge EVSE Test Kit combines the advanced capabilities of the EurotestXD MI3155 Multifunction Tester with the intelligent A1732 DC Rapid Charge EVSE Adapter to create a complete solution for testing electric vehicle charging stations. Together, these instruments allow technicians to perform functional, diagnostic, and safety tests on both AC and DC EVSEs, including rapid charging systems that use CCS and CHAdeMO protocols.

The MI3155 and A1732 work together to simulate real charging conditions, initiate communication between the charger and a simulated electric vehicle, as well as verify correct operation under normal and load conditions.

For a practical demonstration of EVSE simulation and fault testing, see this video:

The A1732 adaptor adds another layer of capability by supporting fault simulation on the PE and CP circuits. This allows technicians to monitor how EVSEs respond to abnormal states and ensure that protective mechanisms are operating correctly. Meanwhile, Bluetooth connectivity allows the MI3155 to be operated remotely, allowing users to keep a safe distance from high-power equipment while monitoring performance in real time.

Beyond EVSE testing, the MI3155 functions as a fully featured multifunction installation tester that is suitable for commercial and industrial environments. It measures TRMS voltage and current, tests loop and line impedance tests using multiple wiring methods, conducts earth resistance tests, and carries out insulation resistance testing across a wide voltage range of 50 V to 2500 V. Advanced features include PI and DAR calculation, discharge time measurement, phase sequence verification, and support for RCD types AC, A, B, B+, EV RCD, and PRCD.

A large full-colour touchscreen on the MI3155 along with an intuitive graphical interface streamlines test setup and operation, making it easy to use. Programmable AUTO SEQUENCE routines speed up repetitive tasks, while the internal memory organiser keeps test data neatly managed. Support for QR and barcode scanning also simplifies asset identification and documentation, making the kit particularly useful for large-scale site assessments and regulatory compliance work.

Here's a video showcasing the MI3155’s touchscreen interface along with the AUTO SEQUENCE routines.

Built to meet international standards such as IEC/EN 61557 and IEC/EN/HD 60364, the system ensures all measurements meet recognised safety and performance requirements. It is built for demanding field conditions and trusted by certified electricians, EVSE installers, manufacturers, and maintenance teams.

The A1732 adaptor runs on a standard 230 V AC supply and draws around 2.5 kW peak during startup. The MI3155, on the other hand, uses a built‑in charger and rechargeable batteries. In off‑grid environments, the system can be operated using a suitable portable power station. Bluetooth communication between the A1732 adaptor and the MI3155 enhances workflow efficiency and reduces the need for direct interaction with energised equipment.
