Metrel MI3290 GL Earth Analyser

The Metrel MI3290 GL Earth Analyser is capable of assessing earthing facilities in residential and industrial settings using a range of different methods. These include 2-, 3-, and 4-pole earth resistance testing and 4-pole testing via the Schlumberger and Wenner methods in addition to selective earth testing (via an iron clamp) and stakeless testing (two clamps).

The frequency band on the Metrel MI3290 GL goes from 55Hz to 15kHz and it is possible to test at a single frequency or over the whole range using the sweep facility. The earth analyser can also simulate the effect of a lightning strike with a 25kHz high frequency pulse. A frequency filter for electrical noise makes the tester ideally suited to industrial applications.

Operation of the Metrel MI3290 is conducted through the 3.4” colour touchscreen, simple navigation buttons, and intuitive onboard menus. Earth testing results and graphical analysis can be shown on the digital screen whilst also being saved to the 1GB internal memory before being analysed and reported with the tester’s onboard tools.

The Metrel MI3290 GL is specifically designed for industrial applications as it has an IP54 ingress protection rating when open and an IP65 ingress protection rating when closed. It is surprisingly portable and has a compact design with an incorporated handle.

ES software is provided as standard with the Metrel MI3290 GL and facilitates data transfer by wireless Bluetooth communication or a standard USB cable. Further supplied accessories include a G clamp, two iron clamps, test leads, crocodile clips, test probes, and a carry case.
