Metrel MI 3394 CE Electrical Safety Multitester

The Metrel MI 3394 CE Electrical Safety Multitester is ideal for checking that electrical appliances and other systems conform to CE electrical safety regulations in as it is suitable for TT, TN, IT and 115V supply systems. The tester boasts test and measurement for parameters including AC/DC high voltage, continuity, insulation resistance, and discharge time. Four different types of leakage current can be measured - substitute, differential, touch and PE leakage current - whilst several tests are available including power P/S/Q, voltage, current, cosϕ, frequency, ThdU, ThdI and PF.

Advanced tests include high voltage testing at 5kV AC and 6kV DC whilst a four-wire continuity test offers four current choices (0.2!, 4A, 10A, 25A) for precision measurement. Earth/ground bond testing is also possible with the Metrel MI 3394.

To help facilitate testing, the Metrel MI 3394 has multiple test terminals, thereby offering the choice of single tests or auto-test sequences. Alternatively, this can be carried out using just one socket thanks to an optional CE A1460 test adaptor. Data management software on the instrument allows the user to organise saved results whilst memory can be expanded via a removable micro-SD card. An 8GB card is supplied as standard although the tester supports memory capacities up to 32GB.

Three different connectivity options (RS-232, Bluetooth, USB) allow communication with other products for downloading results, uploading test sequence programmes, and exerting remote control.

Results and menus are displayed on the Metrel MI 3394’s colour LCD touch screen and operation is intuitive and simple. Despite its superb testing capability, the tester is portable and has useful handles for ease of transportation. Overall, the MI 3394 provides practical, simplified testing without sacrificing range, accuracy or depth.
