Patch App & Go Network Tester and Cable Tracer

The Patch App & Go Network Tester and Cable Tracer provides a smart way of testing and tracing 4 pair LAN cables. It works with a testing dongle, a set of smart remote plugs and the free Patch App & Go app from the App Store or Google Play Store which will allow the user to control proceedings from their iOS or Android smartphone.

The Patch App & Go Tester is capable of performing a continuity test and wiremap on Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6a, shielded and unshielded network cables which enables detection of faults such as miswires, split pairs, shorts and open ends. Additionally, the tester can also perform cable tracing where the user can send a trace from an unidentified wall socket and see which smart plug picks up the signal at the patch panel.

One of the main advantages of the Patch App & Go Tester is that, once the smart plugs are installed in the patch panel sockets, the user can proceed to carry out multiple tests in quick succession without going back to the panel. The unit is supplied with six individually labelled and programmed smart plugs as standard and an additional 18 (numbered up to 24) can be ordered separately. The app will recognise the smart plug so tests are always correctly ordered and saved in the phone’s internal memory.

A live summary of tests are shown on the user’s smartphone screen and, once testing is complete, the finished wiremap will be shown on screen. A good termination will be shown on screen as a PASS whilst a FAIL will result in a complete wiremap with the various faults indicated on the app’s screen. The Patch App & Go Tester has three different measurement modes with multiple test, quick test, and tracing available. Results are saved to the user’s smartphone’s internal memory and a PDF report is automatically generated which can then be e-mailed on to the user or to a client as required.
