The Socket & See PDL PRO High Resolution Loop Tester is an ideal instrument for high current, high resolution, digital earth loop impedance testing. Utilising loop anti trip technology, it can be reliably tasked to perform the following tests:

No Trip Loop L-E:

Measure system loop impedance (Zs) in an RCD protected circuit. Avoid tripping the RCD with leakage build-up in this 3-wire test by disconnecting unimportant electrical appliances.

High Current L-E:

Check external loop impedance (Ze) in a distribution board which is downstream from any incorporated RCDs. Plus, in a circuit not protected by an RCD, this test can measure system loop impedance (Z).

High Current, High Resolution L-E / L-N:

In a circuit completely void of RCD, these tests can be used to measure both system loop impedance (Zs) and external loop impedance (Ze). The results will be displayed to 1MΩ resolution.

Employing true impedance technique for accurate results when measuring Prospective Fault Current (PFC), the PDL PRO also calculates Prospective Short Circuit (PSC) in case of an interruption between the live conductors.

All loop tests can be accomplished using the Hands Free feature incorporated in the PDL PRO. Once the instrument is connected and the correct voltage/polarity is confirmed, the test will begin automatically. Results are displayed by the PDL PRO's sizeable backlit display which illuminates when first turned on and while being actively used. Toggle which voltage is shown by selecting the VOLTS LN-LE-NE function.

A 3min auto off function preserves battery life and the ruggedised rubber casing serves as excellent protection from every day wear and tear. An ergonomic design, the intuitive interface consists of a single tactile dial and several user-friendly buttons. The PDL PRO also boasts complete protection against accidental phase to phase connection and a polarity test pad with an audible/visual warning, for identifying potentially dangerous polarity reversals.

The tester is CAT III 500V and CAT IV 300V rated.
