BattPAT Portable Appliance Tester
The BattPAT portable appliance safety checker is an easy-to-use battery-powered, manual PASS or FAIL portable electrical appliance safety checker.
The BattPAT PATS tester has clear Pass or Fail LED indicators that show if the UK 240V electrical appliance or leads being checked are electrically safe. Press a single button, and the BATT PAT can provide both an insulation test and an earth bond test. It gives separate pass-or-fail indications for both safety tests. When testing extension leads and computer IEC cords/leads, it performs a polarity test as well. The BATTPAT can also test surge protected extension leads, and it also has a long lead feature for testing extension leads over 20 metres.
We also suggest performing common sense visual indications on appliances to check for any obvious defects that may affect the safety before using the BATTPAT. This small hand-held BAT PAT unit is ideal for most service applications and performs fundamental safety checks on Class 1 (earthed) and Class II (double insulated) 230-volt UK electrical appliances.
