The Fluke 283FC CAT III 1500V Solar Digital Multimeter  has been designed to work in DC working environments up to 1500V CAT III and CAT IV 1000V to allow work in solar photovoltaic (PV), wind power, electric railways and data centres safely all whilst increasing productivity with accurate, reliable and repeatable results.

When used alongside the included TL175-HV CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 V rated silicone TwistGuardTM test leads, the Fluke 283 gives the user more flexibility when testing voltage, milli-voltage, resistance, continuity, or capacitance on inverters, combiner boxes, PV arrays, or individual PV modules. Further useful accessories include the magnetic hanging kit which allows the operator to free their hands when testing and a hard carrying case to help protect the multimeter in transport and storage. The backlit LCD display and illuminated keypad allow for work even in poor light conditions.

The 283FC Multimeter meet safety requirements to IEC 61010-2-032 standards to correspond to over voltage category level in the PV array electrical installations (IEC 61730-1). Further functions of the 283FC allow users to safely measure AC/DC volts, AC/D. mV, AC/DC VA, continuity, resistance, capacitance, AC/D amps, Hz, Visual and audio polarity indicators with on/off function help prevent accidental module wiring issues,

The Fluke 283FC features Flukes unique multimeter readiness self check, that ensures the multimeter is always in proper working order before the next reading is taken. The self-check allows the operator to gain valuable insight to the then meter calibration, battery life, test lead functionality and AC/DC voltage measurement functionality ensuring the meter is always ready to be used.

User defined limit gauge

The 283FC benefits from a dedicated limit gauge button where the user can turn on/off the limit gauge warnings or select previously used parameter profiles. With customised limits, operators can streamline troubleshooting allowing for quick identification of measurement deviations or errors helping to maintain the optimum solar installation performance.

Fluke Connect™ with Fluke Cloud™ Storage

Flukes 283FC is compatible with both Fluke Connect™ with Fluke Cloud™ Storage. With connectivity the the Fluke Connect app, users are able to transfer test measurements straight from the 283FC to a smartphone or tablet for further analysis. Users are able to view trends and monitor measurements in real time from a phone screen and upload the measurements to the Fluke Cloud. Test measurements from multiple Fluke Connect enabled testers can be combined to create and share test reports straight from the job site via email. Users are able to collaborate with colleagues using ShareLive™ video calls or email.

The table view feature allows for the organisation of measurements, notes and images in a clear and efficient way to provide data references, identify issues and generate reports to send to customers. Fluke Connect™ with Fluke Cloud™ Storage can help to streamline the workflow and ensures accurate data storage and organisation. The 283FC provides users with data logging and storage with in built time clock, each test measurement can be time and date stamped providing accurate test record keeping with up to 6000 records. Test recording stored on the internal memory can be transferred to the Fluke Connect App for further analysis. Customisable logging time frames and intervals can be made to always ensure the logging process meets the specific requirements of the system under test. The Fluke 283FC is battery powered by 3 x AA alkaline batteries with typical usage of up to 150 hours (without the backlight).
