Fluke 6500-2 PAT Tester
The Fluke 6500-2 PAT Tester is a smart portable appliance tester that stands out because of its simple one button test function and its sleek, lightweight design. A wide range of tests are available on the instrument including power-on, earth bond and insulation testing. Current testing options are touch current and substitute leakage current whilst the instrument can also check RCD trip current and RCD trip time. A series of load/leakage tests can also be carried out with the 6500-2. These include load current, load power, leakage current and PELV tests.
Aside from comprehensive measurement capabilities, the Fluke 6500-2 has several useful design features that make it extremely practical. Firstly, the large, colour, graphical display makes measurements easy to see and also shows useful help screens when carrying out PAT tests. Simple push buttons and a one-button test trigger make the test process simpler. Just one mains socket can be used for all testing functions whilst an IEC socket facilitates tests on mains and extension cables. A built-in handle makes the tester easy to move whilst all accessories fit into the handy carry case.
The smart capabilities of the Fluke 6500-2 also enable speedier, more streamlined testing. A USB stick and cable are supplied as standard and both can download data from the tester’s large internal memory which has space for over 1000 results. A professional testing mode allows quick testing and a full QWERTY keyboard helps the user quickly enter data including shorthand codes for locations, integral sites, and descriptions.
The Fluke 6500-2 is supplied with all necessary accessories including a mains cord, test leads, test probes and crocodile clips. It offers the user flexible, portable PAT testing and is rated as Cat II 300V.
