Fluke Solmetric PVA-1500HE2 1500V High Efficiency I-V Curve Tracer Kit

The Fluke Solmetric PVA-1500HE2 has been designed to measure PV system performance with high accuracy and efficiency. This highly precise and reliable instrument is able to assess the health and performance of solar modules and arrays, which ensures that the user can make informed decisions to enhance both the longevity and output of their analyser. The PVA-1500HE2 curve tracing kit offers a wide range of accessories that enhance the users' experience, making testing simple. By pinpointing issues early, thanks to the PVA-1500HE2's real-time analysis, solar energy production is able to be maximised, whilst downtime is minimised.

The PVA-1500HE2 allows for I-V curve testing to take place, which is the most complete solar module performance measurement when used for commissioning, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PV arrays. With the rapid-fire analysis that is provided, the user can detect outliers thanks to the stored data functions that acts as a baseline for future performance enquiries. With an ability to measure I-V curves up to 1500V and 10-30A DC, the instrument is capable of automated data management, analysis, and reporting. The PVA-1500HE2 (High Efficiency) has the ability to measure I-V curves up to 1500V and 10-30A DC, as well as featuring the ability for a fast setup, a sweep-to-sweep delay of 9 seconds to measure 3.5mW in <1hr, and automated data management, analysis and reporting.

The PVA-1500HE2 differs from the PVA-1500T2 in that it can measure all string types, including high-efficiency models up to 30A. It also operates with a sweep-to-sweep delay of 9 seconds which means it can measure 3.5mW within an hour, regardless of the temperature.

The number of I-V curve points can be selected at 100 or 500, with the PVA measuring the I-V curve of a PV string or module using a capacitive load. The measurement is typically performed at the string level by connecting directly to the string level, by connecting directly to the string or at a combiner box using the fuses to select the string under test. With a tablet or laptop (Windows only), the user can perform more tests per hour and display the date in easy-to-read formats.

The SolSensor can provide irradiance, module temperature, and array tilt data to the PV model. This information is then used to predict the I-V curve shape at these operating conditions. The measured curve is the then translated into standard test conditions. The user can then clamp the SolSensor onto the module frame, and use wireless communication through a PC via WiFi, with a line-of-sight wireless range of 100m.

The silicon photodiode sensor includes a range of things to ensure that the SolSensor remains accurate when measuring solar technologies under various sky conditions and sun angles. With PV technology compensation, including special factors for multi- and mono-crystalline cells, temperature compensation, and rotation and elevation calibration. This ensures that I-V curve measurements can be taken earlier or later in the day.
