The Kane GLD450plus Combustible Gas Leak Detector is a simple, user-friendly gas leak detector which can detect the presence of methane and other hydrocarbon gases as well as some leak detection fluids and other fluids like paint thinners, ammonia and hydrogen. It is sensitive to concentrations of less than 50ppm (for CH₄) and gives an indication of the concentration level through an increased tic rate and red flashing LED.

In fresh air, the green LED stays illuminated whilst the amber and then the red LED flash when organic gases are detected. A loud audible buzzer provides further indication of gas presence with an increased tic rate to mark greater concentration. Pinpointing the gas leak is possible with the Kane GLD450plus as it can be re-set to increase precision after the red LED shows.

The Kane GLD450plus is a lightweight, ergonomic instrument with a simple ‘wand’ design. The gas sensor itself is located at the end of the 180mm stalk and two AA batteries will power the detector for roughly 5 hours.
