The Megger KC50E Extension Reel (50 m) is a compact and lightweight solution built to extend the testing capabilities of the DLRO2 series instruments when working over long distances or at heights. It is built to fit either the KC50C or KC100C lead sets, making it safe to carry out low-resistance measurements on demanding applications such as:

• Testing the lightning protection of a wind turbine
• Testing lightning and static protection on airplanes
• Testing cables on subsea cable laying applications
• Any application measuring low resistance requiring very long test leads

One end of the test lead is fitted with an IP54-rated male connector, while the other is fitted with a female connector. Once the two are joined and locked, the assembly is capable of achieving an IP68 rating, making it highly suitable to use in environments where water or dust could otherwise cause damage. In practice, the KC50E extension reel is first unwound, the cable is disconnected from the drum, and then connected to either a KC100C or KC50C lead set, allowing seamless extension without compromising measurement accuracy or integrity.
