Megger MFM10 Sheath Fault Location System

The Megger MFM10 Sheath Fault Location System is designed for simple and efficient testing of cable sheaths, offering both pre-location and pinpointing of sheath faults through an intuitive, menu-driven interface. Operation is straightforward using Megger’s proven rotary encoder, which is complemented by a touch screen for quick data entry. Its powerful 10kV Dc source, with both positive and negative polarity, makes it suitable for testing high-voltage cables. The built-in bi-polar function eliminates external influences such as thermoelectric and galvanic effects, ensuring results are reliable, even in the most challenging of conditions.

The MFM10 also supports the entry of multi-selection cables with varying parameters, which adds flexibility and allows for complex cable systems to be tested with ease. Difficult faults can be addressed using the MFM10’s high current output of up to 750mA, enabling fault ‘burning” when required. In addition, its integrated protocolling function, compatible with EasyProt software, streamlines report generation, making documentation fast and efficient.
