Megger PVK320 Photovoltaic Kit

The Megger PVK320 Photovoltaic Kit contains a range of useful tools for installing, commissioning and testing photovoltaic systems, which complement the standard devices in an electrician’s toolbox.

The Megger PVM210 Irradiance Meter measures the energy received from the sun in any given location in both W/m2 and BTU which allows the user to locate the best place for a solar installation. The clear display, hold function, and handheld operation make it perfect for use on sloped rooves and ladders. The PVM210 can also calculate short circuit current when used with the Megger AVO410.

In addition to the PVM210, the Megger PVK320 Kit also contains a Cat IV 600V-rated Megger AVO410 Digital Multimeter which measures all the usual variables including DC voltage (1000V), AC voltage (750V), AC/DC current (10A), resistance (60MΩ), frequency (60MHz) and capacitance (6mF). The AC readings benefit from True RMS measurement for increased accuracy. Advanced features like auto-ranging, min/max measurement, data hold, RS232 and continuity/diode testing make the AVO410 suitable for a range of tasks required by photovoltaic installations.

The final main feature of the Megger PVK320 Kit is the photovoltaic test leads. Alongside the silicone test leads supplied with the AVO410, the kit also contains two pairs of specialist solar test leads. The first pair, 1.3m in length, each have one standard 4mm plug at one end with a an MC4-type solar panel connector at the other end. The second pair, 0.2m in length, adapt MC4 connectors to MC3 connectors.

All the devices are supplied in one soft carry case for ease of transport. Overall, the Megger PVK320 Kit constitutes a great way to specialise a standard toolbox for solar applications.
