Megger SMRT 1D Single Phase Relay Test System

The Megger SMRT 1D is a single-phase relay test system designed for protection engineers who need a powerful, fully self-contained solution. As a standalone unit with an integrated 10.1” full-colour touch screen display, it combines high compliance voltage with high-current output for testing a wide range of electromechanical, solid-state and microprocessor-based protection relays. That includes overcurrent (instantaneous and time-delay), voltage controlled, and voltage restraint delays, under/over-voltage, single phase impedance and power, directional, synchronising, auto-synchronising, frequency, volts/Hz, reclosing, thermal and various other protection functions.

Using the on-board interface, engineers can run manual, steady-state and dynamic tests directly on the SMRT 1D, with intuitive menu screens and built-in preset routines for many popular relays. Test results can be stored in the unit’s internal memory and later transferred to a USB drive for reporting. For more advanced or automated workflows, the SMRT 1D is supplied with Megger’s Relay Test Management System (RTMS), which is available in Standard or Advanced versions, which can be installed on multiple PCs without security dongles or licence restrictions.

Eletcrically, the SMRT 1D delivers up to 32 A at 200 VA continuously and up to 60 A at 319 VA for short durations for its current channel, with a flat power curve and 50 V compliance for testing high-burden overcurrent relays. The voltage channel provides 0-30/150/300 V at 150 VA and can be converted into a second current source (up to 5 A continuous or 15 A short duration), allowing single-phase differential and harmonic restraint transformer differential testing, or paralleled with the main current output for up to 37 A continuous and 75 A short-time. With additional features such as IEC 61850 GOOSE and 9-2 LE Sampled Values options, Rogowski low-level output modes and GPS-synchronised end to end test capability, the SMRT 1D is well suited to both conventional and modern substations.
