The Megger Thermal Camera Module with 640 x 512 Resolution adds high‑resolution thermal imaging to the MPAC208 and MPAC208 IECEx acoustic imaging systems, allowing engineers and maintenance teams to view heat patterns and sound sources in one integrated system, helping to diagnose faults faster and with greater confidence.

The module uses a 640 × 512 infrared detector operating in the 8–14 µm spectral range and delivers detailed thermal imaging across the full scene. It provides a NETD of 60 mK at 25°C, which supports clear thermal contrast, while the 25 Hz frame rate ensures smooth image capture during surveys. Optical specifications include a 32.9° × 26.6° field of view, a 0.923 mrad IFOV, a 13 mm focal length, and a minimum object distance of 0.14 m. Digital zoom from 1× to 6× assists with pinpointing specific components or areas of concern.

Connection is simple via a keyed USB-C port on the top of the MPAC208, ensuring secure attachment and quick setup. The MPAC firmware already supports the module, so no additional configuration is required. Simply plug it in and you are ready to capture both acoustic and thermal data in a single inspection.

The temperature measurement range spans –20 °C to 120 °C and 120 °C to 550 °C, making the module suitable for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical asset inspections. Captured thermal images and videos can be imported into Megger’s Analyst software alongside acoustic data for further evaluation and detailed reporting.
