Megger TTRU1 Handheld Transformer Turns Ratiometer

The Megger TTRU1 Handheld Transformer Turns Ratiometer allows for the user to perform routine turns ratio and polarity validation tests on power, distribution, and instrument transformersm guided by colour-coded leads, clamps, and customisable on-screen vectors that match the transformer nameplate. The TTRU1 delivers accurate AC voltage and current with minimal user input, supporting single-phase, three-phase, and instrument transformer testing. In addition to turns ratio tests, the ADV model includes go/no-go short circuit, open circuit, and inductance test capabilities, ensuring comprehensive transformer evaluation.

The TTRU1 is designed for simplicity and efficiency. Its intuitive full-colour Hi-bright LCD interface, auto screen dimming, and guided setup reduce training time and make testing straightforward. Results are automatically stored and can be exported via USB to Excel or PDF, or imported into PowerDB for easy management. Users can save commonly tested transformer configurations and vectors, enabling quick selection and consistent, accurate results. Optional accessories, including a USB printer, hand crank, and solar battery pack, further expand its versatility.

Battery operation is optimised for long testing sessions. The TTRU1 can perform over 1000 turns ratio tests on a single charge using-factory installed AA NiMH USB-C rechargeable batteries. Recharging is simple via any standard USB wall charger or computer USB port. Combined with additive/subtractive polarity recognition and excitation current measurement, the TTRU1 delivers safe, repeatable, and reliable results, helping locate issues such as magnetic core defects, shifting windings, or turn-to-turn insulation failures.
