Metrel A1732 DC Rapid Charge EVSE Adaptor

The Metrel A1732 DC Rapid Charge EVSE Adaptor is a specialised testing tool designed for the electrical safety verification of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Supporting both DC (Mode 4) and AC (Mode 3) configurations, the A1732 is ideal for installers, commissioning engineers, and maintenance professionals working within the EV charging industry.

The A1732 is compatible with a wide range of connector types, including CCS2 (Combo), CHAdeMO, and Type 2 AC plugs, while supporting key EV communication standards such as ISO 15118, DIN SPEC 70121, CHAdeMO v0.9.1+, and IEC 61851-1. It is also capable of simulating a live EV battery with a nominal voltage of 300V and 5A, enabling accurate, real-world testing of EV chargers without requiring an electric vehicle.

Designed to be used on-site, the A 1732 includes banana test points for AC, DC, and PE connections, along with dual PE test terminals to support accurate 4-wire low-resistance (Rlow) measurements. Housed in a durable, shockproof case, it carries a CAT III / 300V rating and operates in environments ranging from -10°C to +40°C.

Integrates with the MI3155 EurotestXD

The A1732 works with the Metrel MI3155 EurotestXD Multifunction Tester via Bluetooth connection, offering a cable-free operation and full test control through the MI3155 interface. This pairing allows a wide range of measurements where the user can perform 4-wire low resistance measurements using a 200mA test current, insulation resistance tests with voltages up to 2500V DC, and real-time display of charging protocol data, voltage, and current readings.

Additional features include DC impedance and discharge time measurements, where fault resistances between 20kΩ and 640kΩ can be applied in 5kΩ steps for thorough evaluation of insulation monitoring devices. Customisable AUTOSEQUENCEs can also be programmed on the MI3155 for streamlined, repeatable testing. Post-test analysis is supported through Metrel’s ES Manager PC software, which allows users to prepare test structures, download and view results, and generate professional test reports in various formats.
