Metrel MI2883 Energy Master Class S Power Quality Analyser

The Metrel MI2883 Energy Master Class S Power Quality Analyser is handheld datalogger that measures a wide range of different variables to determine whether an electrical power supply is running efficiently or not. It can also help diagnose specific problems by picking up on anomalous consumption patterns, thus saving the user money both in terms of energy bills and by preventing loss of production due to malfunctioning equipment. It is capable of staying in place for over a year or even longer depending on the size of the memory card installed. The analyser is suitable for checking power correction equipment, performing long-term analysis, earmarking preventative maintenance and verifying system capacity.

The Metrel MI2883 has TRMS measurement for voltage (3-channel) and current (4-channel) including for peak values and crest factor whilst there is also measurement of various power aspects such as active, non-active, fundamental, harmonic and load unbalance. Power measurements comply to IEEE 1459 and there is also calculation of power factor cosφ.

Further analysis functions include temperature measurement, harmonic and interharmonic analysis up to the 50th order, THD measurement and measurement of unbalance and flicker. All power quality analysis functions on the Metrel MI2883 meet EN 50160 standard and it can even capture power supply events such as shutdowns, interruptions, swells and dips.

Up to 7 adjustable alarms can be set on the Metrel MI2883 to warn the user of specific problems and then save particular events to the internal memory. The analyser is supplied with an 8GB micro-SD card which can save thousands of results and can automatically recognise and set an appropriate range for up to four attached smart clamps.

The large screen and intuitive menu on the Metrel MI2883 make it very easy to use despite its complex measurement and analysis functions. Metrel PC SW PowerView3 Software is included as standard and this allows the user to download results to a computer before automatically forming them into professional test reports.

The Metrel MI2883 comes in two different set options. The standard set has a test probes, crocodile clips, an 8GB micro-SD card, PC SE PowerView3 software, a USB cable and carry case. The Eurotest includes all the same accessories plus three Metrel A1227 one-phase flexible current clamps with a range of up to 3000A.
