The Metrel MI3114 Photovoltaic & Electrical Installation Tester is a powerful instrument made for accurate testing of modern PV (photovoltaic) systems. It supports system voltages of up to 1500 V and short circuit currents up to 40 A, delivering reliable results that comply with IEC 62446-1 requirements. Testing is streamlined using a one-touch Auto test function that executes all Category 1 procedures in a single sequence, saving time on-site while reducing the risk of missed steps. Key PV measurements include insulation resistance of strings, polarity checks, continuity of protective conductors, and accurate Isc and Uoc readings. Measured values are automatically converted to STC and compared against manufacturer data, giving you immediate clarity on system performance.

A large colour touchscreen makes the MI3114 simple and efficient to operate. The display allows users to prepare and start selected tests or measurements, store results, and review them with ease. If parameters were entered incorrectly, they can be edited even after measurements have been completed, avoiding unnecessary retesting. The integrated memory organiser allows users to manage, search, and group results effectively, while the built-in PV module database helps ensure accurate comparisons.

The MI3114 is available in both a standard and a pro set, each tailored to achieve specific needs. The standard set includes everything needed to get started on photovoltaic system testing, including high-quality test leads, MC4 adapters, communication cables, software, and a calibration certificate. The Pro Set expands capability with a PV remote unit, temperature sensor, reference cell, and additional accessories for advanced diagnostics.

The Pro Set also enhances accuracy with an included wireless remote unit that measures irradiation and cell temperature in real time, ensuring precise environmental data is captured alongside electrical measurements and improving the reliability of results. The MI3114 supports AUTOSEQUENCE testing and seamless data transfer via Metrel ES Manager software, making it easy to prepare test structures, upload results, and generate professional reports.
