Solmetric PVA-1000S PV Analyser Kit

The Solmetric PVA-1000S PV Analyser Kit is industry leading solar testing technology, featuring a 1000 volt I-V curve tracer and integrated PV performance modelling. Ensuring that a PV system or array is performing in line with expectation and design is imperative when considering safety, efficiency and return on investment. This Solmetric kit is intended to perform the complete range of performance testing and provide data on key parameters including irradiance, temperature, module tilt, I-V and P-V curve measurements.

The 1000S is a designed with speed and reliability in mind, with a high measurement throughput able to measure 1MW in under 2 hours. The durable enclosure is moisture and dust resistant, in addition to the unit being able to perform in environments with ambient temperatures up to 45°C. The SolSensor’s silicon photodiode sensor designed with special features which enabled it to make accurate irradiance readings at any time of day regardless of sky condition, sun angle or low light presence.

The wireless capabilities of this unit is particularly useful, from both a convenience and usability standpoint. With a tablet PC as your user interface, information is displayed in real-time via the users preferred device as opposed to an integrated screen attached to the unit. Wireless also removes the requirement for wires and extension cables, providing the user with the ability to move freely around the site, provided they are within the 100 metre signal radius.

Model & Kit Selection

This kit is available in both a 20A and 30A version. By selecting the 30A version, you will increase the measurement current limit from baseline 20A value, providing additional capacity when measuring multiple strings in parallel. Please note, parallel strings of high efficiency modules can not be measured in parallel even if the total current is under the maximum 20/30A value of your PVA-1000S. Other kit options include the waterproof Pelican transit case for safe storage and transportation, field charging kit to allow for charging from solar units or battery packs while in the field, and finally an operator training course intended to offer guidance on proper usage and troubleshooting.

Solmetric Data Analysis Tool (DAT)

Solmetric’s Data Analysis Tool (DAT) is an Excel based software application that enables analysis of blocks of PV analyser/I-V Curve data, collected from your Solmetric PVA unit. This tool provides automatic evaluation and a statistical summary, in addition to highlighting strings that do not conform to test limits. The software offers a range of histograms and charts to visualise I-V curve strings and allows for custom reports to be generated in PDF format. DAT is available for free at the manufacturer’s website (solmetric.com) and is compatible with all Solmetric PVA models, including the PVA-1000S.

With its impressive performance and range of optional additions, this kit is ideal for those working within the construction, auditing or maintenance of solar units. Robust and responsive, the PVA-1000S is able to deliver accurate measurements and calculations to the user quickly, even in challenging environments. Professional reports can be generated with just a few clicks, all from the users own laptop or tablet while in the field.
