The Testo 316-2-EX Multi-Purpose Gas Escape Detector with ATEX Protection is the most sophisticated model within the 316 gas leak detector range. Boasting the ability to detect not just fuel gases, but refrigerant gases as well, the 316-2-EX is the world’s first tool with the ability to detect both gas forms using a single probe. Not only does this model offer top-of-the-range detection parameters, it also possesses ATEX protection for environments which require intrinsically safe equipment to reduce explosion risk.

When alerting the user to gas presence, this model uses both an audible alarm and a colour-coded traffic light system. The tip of the detection probe and the device’s screen change colour upon gas detection, while the screen displays values in ppm, vol%, %LEL and g/a. In addition to the device itself, users can display values on their smart device, as the 316-2-EX is Testo Smart App compatible.

The flexible detection probe allows you to access spaces that would otherwise be too confined. Simply bend the probe arm to the desired shape, and you’ll be able to reach those hard to reach areas within cabinets and around corners. Sensor self-testing and automatic zeroing are both present as standard, in addition to a ‘fine’ mode, which offers a more precise form of detection where needed.
