Testo 816-1 Sound Level Meter

The Testo 816-1 Sound Level Meter measures sound from 30 to 130dB with an accuracy of ±1.4dB and a resolution of 0.1dB. It can detect sound over a frequency range of 20Hz to 8kHz with both ‘A’ and ‘C’ weighting which is suitable for assessing sound at low frequencies and within the human hearing range. The user can also choose between fast (125ms) and slow (1s) time weighting. The sound level measurement is compliant with both IEC 61672-1 Class 2 and ANSI S1.4 Type 2.

A backlit graphical display allows the user to make the most of the Testo 816-1’s measuring capabilities. It can show results in the form of a dynamic bar graph as well as providing a digital readout. Up to 31,000 data sets can be saved to the meter’s internal memory than downloaded, analysed, and archived using the software package provided. Operating the meter is very easy thanks to the clearly-labelled push buttons.

A connector cable is provided as standard and the Testo 816-1 is capable of online measurement over a longer period for truly extensive assessment. It is also possible to use the AC and DC outputs to link the sound meter to another instrument. Supplied accessories include a wind muffler and a useful carry case which make outdoor measurements more accurate and practical.
