The Vivax vCamDrain Self-Levelling Sewer & Drain Inspection Camera System with Sonde (D26-HD) is primarily a drain and sewer inspection camera system, designed to give users a clear live view inside small bore pipework during survey, fault-finding and general inspection work. The system uses a Wi-Fi reel and the vCam Mobile Controller (VMC) app, allowing operators to view footage, control reel functions and record inspections directly from a compatible smartphone or tablet.

A key strength of the vCamDrain platform is its straightforward app-based workflow. Vivax states that the VMC app can control the camera lights, distance counter reset, sonde and text writer, while also showing Wi-Fi, battery and charging status. Recording can be made directly in the app and files can also be copied to the reel’s USB port, making it a practical system for capturing and sharing inspection footage on site.

As well as functioning as a camera inspection system, this model also doubles up as a sonde-based locating solution thanks to the built-in sonde in the camera head. That means once the camera is in the line, its position can also be traced from above ground using a compatible locator such as the Vivax vLoc3-Cam, which Vivax markets as a dedicated sonde locator. This gives users the benefit of both visual inspection and location capability within the same workflow.
