C.Scope CXL4 Cable Avoidance Tool
The C.Scope CXL4 Cable Avoidance Tool is a sophisticated instrument which is capable of finding hidden cables and piping through four different operating modes whilst a range of other sophisticated features enhance location and help prevent human error. This is ideal for avoiding dangerous, costly cable strikes during construction, utilities and maintenance projects.
Four modes - all with improved performance - help the C.Scope CXL4 accurately locate hidden obstacles. Power mode picks up on the signal emitted by live electric current in a cable whilst both cables and piping can be found using radio mode which detects radio signals emitted by those utilities even when using the locator as a standalone instrument.
Generator mode works with C.Scope signal generators to detect the applied signal in metal pipes or underground cables. This can even be used with other generators in order to detect non-metallic pipes whilst an option for 131kHz signal detection is perfect for finding short, thin or unearthed cables.
A separate AllScan mode can detect signal frequencies from buried metal outside of the range of other modes. This is useful for detecting hard-to-find obstacles as well as checking the accuracy of metal pipe marking achieved by power, radio and generator modes. Peak Hold remembers where the signal is strongest in order to ensure accurate location.
The CXL4 has a range of other features to which help the user make the most out of the instrument. The AlarmZone™ feature alerts the user when there are particularly shallow pipes or cables. The trigger depth can be adjusted at the user’s discretion. Meanwhile, a dynamic swing sensor alerts the user if the locator is being swung excessively which can undermine accuracy. An automatic daily self test also helps safeguard accuracy and negates the need for calibration and results are conveyed to the user by audible alerts and the backlit LCD screen.
The C.Scope CXL4 is ruggedly constructed with an IP65 weatherproof ingress protection rating and it is also covered by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. For added functionality, you may wish to consider adding a C.Scope SGA4 or SGV4 Signal Generator to your purchase.
