About Infrared Thermometers

Infrared thermometers can carry out non-contact temperature measurements on surfaces which makes them both safer and more practical than traditional thermocouple thermometers. They are particularly useful when measuring very hot surface temperatures or gaining measurements for inaccessible parts of plant or buildings.

Infrared thermometers have multiple advantages compared to traditional thermocouple digital thermometers. They can usually measure temperature across a much greater range than thermocouples and are much safer to operate than contact thermometers as their remote, non-contact measurement method keeps the user safely away from extremely hot or cold surfaces, or perhaps those suffering fever symptoms.

Using a non-contact infrared thermometer covers a wide range of applications across multiple sectors including fever screening, electrical maintenance and installation, gas and HVAC, mechanical maintenance, refrigeration and much more. Remote measurement also allows measurement on surfaces that are inaccessible or out of reach.
