Megger PMM2 Power Multimeter

The Megger PMM2 Power Multimeter is a next generation multifunction test instrument that has been designed for measuring AC or DC voltage and current. It can also measure primary and secondary voltage and current, power, reactive power, power factor, phase angle and frequency of a single-phase or three-phase electrical system. In single phase mode, the PMM2 can be easily configured to measure the amplitude and phase angle between any two voltage and current inputs. These measured quantities are then displayed in an enlarged font size for easy reading. In three-phase mode, all of the measured quantities are displayed simultaneously on a large, easy-to-read graphic display. An in-built microprocessor-based timer, combined with the unique software of the PMM2, is specifically designed to ease testing and the commissioning of protective relay systems, including induction unit pickup and timing tests.

The PMM2 is the ideal instrument for use in general electrical systems maintenance, electrical machine repairs, protective relay testing or in monitoring power at the electrical service entrance. Power, voltages, and motor starting currents can be captured for analysis. The multimeter has been designed to perform fast, accurate checking and testing of protective relay and meter installations during commissioning and routine maintenance. During meter installations, the instrument is able to be configured to measure phase-to-phase voltage, single-phase current amplitudes, and phase angles. It can also be combined with a voltage or current source for test and calibration of virtually any type of protective relay.

The PMM2 features an internal timer than can be triggered by various start/stop inputs, such as AC/DC voltage signals or the opening/closing of dry contacts. It is a menu-driven instrument with data retention capabilities and can automatically log data based on user-defined triggers. With a 28.8kHz sampling rate and 64GB of internal non-volatile memory, the PMM2 can store over 60 minutes of detailed measurements, with date and time setting also allowing scheduled logging. It provides accurate phase angle measurements even at low current levels, with readings shown as either leading or lagging, selectable between 0-360° or ±180° formats. The device supports CT/VT ratio inputs up to 9999:1 or 9999:5, automatically displaying scaled primary values, which eliminates the need for manual conversions.

The user can choose between the Megger PMM2 Standard Power Multimeter, or the Megger PMM2 Rugged Power Multimeter.
