The Testo 883-2 Thermal Imaging Camera, equipped with a 42° lens, excels at reliably and quickly identifying thermal abnormalities in both large installations and small residential buildings. Designed specifically for building energy consultants, this versatile and flexible camera streamlines the job without compromising on accuracy. The 883-2 boasts an infrared resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, which can be enhanced to 640 x 480 pixels with SuperResolution, and a thermal sensitivity of less than 40mK. With a measuring range from -30°C to +650°C and an accuracy of ±2°C, the Testo 883-2 effectively addresses on-site issues such as unclear imagery and unplanned downtime. Features like Testo ScaleAssist and SiteRecognition ensure optimal accuracy and performance.

The 883-2 features an intuitive touch screen display and allows complete control over the manual focus of its exciting, interchangeable lenses. The standard lens provides a field of view (FOV) of 42° x 32°, while the Telephoto lens, included in the 883-2 Kit, offers a FOV of 12° x 9°. This enables users to capture sharp thermal imagery from as close as 10 cm. The Telephoto lens is perfect for distant objects and outdoor recording. To ensure thermal imagery is not compromised by differences in outdoor and indoor temperatures, the 883-2 utilizes ScaleAssist, providing the following advantages:

• Weak spots can be easier-detected
• Infrared images can be compared regardless of ambient conditions

The 883-2's included Testo e-Assist can automatically recognise emissivity and determination of reflected temperature, with 11 colour palettes included as standard. Featuring a built-in digital camera and laser marker, this easy-to-handle device is IP54 rated, has an internal memory of 2.8GB and can operate up to 5 hours on one battery charge.

The 883-2 Kit

The Testo 883-2 Kit allows the user to measure greater distances outdoors, with a 42° x 32° Telephoto lens. The kit is also supplied with an additional Li-Ion rechargeable battery, and a battery charging station with USB cable.

Testo SiteRecognition

For intelligent image management, the Testo 883-2 Thermal Imaging Camera includes the advanced feature Testo SiteRecognition. Based on a QR code, Data Matrix code, barcode or Testo 2D code, thermal images are automatically assigned to the correct measurement object. This ensures engineers do not lose track of item locations and eliminates the need for tedious, manual image management on a PC. These measuring locations can then be transferred from existing inventory lists, along with collected results, for further processing in a third-party program. Often operators will have to take a considerable amount of pictures of very similar objects, Testo SiteRecognition saves a lot of time and stress discerning which is which and where it is located.

Testo IRSoft & Thermography App

Compatible with the Testo 883-2, IRSoft is a professional piece of PC software designed to comprehensively analyse thermal images and swiftly compile impressive customer reports. With a report wizard tool guiding you step-by-step, create reports using stored or customised templates created in the report designer feature. Displaying detailed documentation in an easy-to-read format, these templates contain all the relevant information such as location, measuring task and inspection results. This advanced PC software can:

• Highlight the exceeding or undershooting of limit values or pixels within a temperature range
• Correct emissivity's of different materials for image areas or sole pixels
• Set an unlimited number of measuring points
• Determine hot and cold spots
• Enable comments on thermal imagery

Testo IRSoft is included with the both the standard Testo 883-2 thermal imager and Testo 883-2 Kit, free of charge and does not require a licence.

With the Testo Thermography App, your smart device becomes a second display and remote control for the 883-2 IR camera. Live streaming is available for customers and reports can be generated on-site. Use the app to insert measuring points and establish a temperature curve, add comments, store relevant data or see a preview of the full report. The Testo Thermography App is free and available for both Android & iOS.
