FLIR E8-XT Thermal Imaging Camera

Please note that this product has now been discontinued, and replaced by the FLIR E8 Pro Thermal Imaging Camera.

The FLIR E8-XT Thermal Imaging Camera is a simple point-and-shoot thermal imager that nevertheless has extremely high thermal resolution and excellent measurement capabilities. The thermal sensor has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels with a measurement range of -20˚C to 550˚C. A thermal sensitivity of 50mK means that temperature differences of just 0.05˚C can be depicted on screen.

The FLIR E8-XT has a 3” colour LCD screen that can show thermal images in a number of different colour palettes. The lens has a field of view of 45˚ x 34˚ with fixed focus imaging and there are handy features such as centre spot measurement, min/max area readings, and Isotherm above/below alarms.

The integrated digital camera on the FLIR E8-XT not only takes visible images to save alongside thermographs, but also enables a range of useful display options. These include picture-in-picture, thermal blending, and FLIR’s patented MSX® thermal image enhancement that imposes details from a visible picture onto a thermal image for greater clarity.

Files can be saved in .jpeg format in the FLIR E8-XT’s large onboard memory and then browsed using the camera’s gallery function. Data download can be performed using the USB port for PCs or via a wireless Wi-Fi connection to the user’s smartphone. The only requirement for wireless transfer is downloading the free FLIR Tools Mobile app, which also has useful analytics functions.

An IP54 ingress protection rating certifies that the FLIR E8-XT is highly resistant to damaging ingress and it is drop-tested to 2m. The thermal camera is supplied with a hard transport case, a rechargeable battery and a battery charger.
