Emazys Z300 HE PV String Analyser

The Emazys Z300 HE PV String Analyser is purpose-built for utility-scale solar farms using modern high-efficiency PV technologies, including TOPCon, HJT, IBC and n-PERT modules. It is designed to operate where conventional instruments often struggle, supporting testing on up to 1500 VDC systems while delivering reliable commissioning, troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.

High-efficiency modules often generate elevated diffusion capacitance, which may produce inrush currents exceeding 100 A during testing. The Z300 HE PV addresses this challenge using proprietary measurement techniques, enabling safe and accurate short-circuit current (Isc) measurements up to 40 A, even on high-capacitance strings.

The Z300 HE PV is built to take on challenging environments, combining IEC 62446-1 commissioning capability with cloud-connected diagnostics to enable plant operators and EPC contractors improve testing accuracy, reduce downtime and monitor long-term string performance across large-scale solar installations.

Comprehensive IEC 62446-1 Commissioning Tests

The Z300 HE PV performs all key string-level tests required for solar commissioning and maintenance in a single instrument, including open open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Isc) and insulation resistance (Riso), while also performing automatic polarity verification to prevent incorrect connections during testing.

In addition to standard commissioning checks, the analyser includes advanced diagnostic tools such as:

  • Ground fault localisation to within ±0.5 PV module
  • Series resistance (Rs) measurement using impedance spectroscopy
  • String capacitance analysis
  • Continuous three-channel voltmeter monitoring
  • Integrated tone generator with handheld pickup probe
  • Maximum Power Point (MPP) estimation

 These capabilities allow technicians to identify underperforming strings, locate faults faster and detect early degradation before they can impact plant performance.

Accurate MPP Estimation and Advanced Diagnostics

The integrated Emazys MPP method estimates Vmpp, Impp, Pmpp and fill factor without needing the full IV curve tracing. This provides fast insight into string performance while reducing test complexity in the field. When used with the optional Tempirra environmental sensor, the system can also apply STC correction to improve the accuracy and comparability of results across installations and time periods.

The Z300 HE PV integrates with the Emazys Cloud platform, which includes an AI-based analysis tool known as Max, which helps identify recurring ground fault patterns, abnormal resistance trends and early-stage degradation across multiple sites. By simply logging in to the Emazys Cloud, Max AI can access your test data and give you actionable insights and diagnostic guidance, making it one of the fastest ways to make decisions and reduce reliance on manual date interpretation.

The analyser connects via Bluetooth to iOS and Android devices, allowing full control through the Emazys mobile app. Every measurement is automatically synchronised to the Emazys cloud, including: test results, GPS coordinates, environmental data, site photos and string identifiers. Data is organised by site and string for streamlined commissioning and maintenance workflows. Reports can be exported in PDF, CSV and Excel formats for compliance documentation and customer handover.

Available cloud plans include Free, Premium and Team options to allow scalability from individual engineers to large portfolio operators.

The Z300 HE PV is housed in a rugged IP65-rated Peli 1400 case with sealed feed-throughs for dependable outdoor use. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivers approximately 8 to 10 hours of operation, with recharge times between 1 and 2 hours, ensuring minimal downtime between field tasks.
