Castle GA2008 Exilis Single Axis Vibration Meter
The Castle GA2008 Exilis Single Axis Vibration Meter is a handy instrument for measuring environmental vibration from plant and machinery. This allows the user to prevent environmental damage, for example to the surrounding building, as well as map changes in vibration signatures which may indicate faults developing within the machine.
Acceleration, velocity and displacement can all be measured over low and high ranges via the included accelerometer. The Castle GA2008 measures acceleration from 0.01g to 10g and from 0.1g to 100g whilst velocity is measured from 0.1mm/s to 100mm/s and from 1mm/s to 1000mm/s. The meter’s low range for displacement goes from 0.1µm/s to 100µm and the high range goes from 1µm/s to 1000µm/s.
The Castle GA2008 measures RMS average, maximum and peak for each aspect of vibration and two separate frequency filters (mechanical and linear) limit readings to specific frequency ranges thus excluding non-harmful vibration. A low noise floor for each parameter allows the user to take low-level measurements.
Readings are shown on the Castle GA2008’s one-line digital display and the meter can save up to 9 readings to its internal memory. Operation is very simple and helps streamline the inspection process. To help map trends, a manual entry software package is supplied as standard to help analyse vibration over time.
The casing and connections of the Castle GA2008 are sturdily constructed in order to meet the demands of industrial use and the meter comes supplied with an accelerometer and spike probe in addition to the trend analysis software.
