A power quality analyser is an instrument which is connected to an electrical supply with the use of current transformer (CT) clamps and voltage connections. PQAs are designed to be left in situ for a period, with models like the Qualistar able to record voltage, current, voltage/current waveform peak, active power, reactive power, power factor, phase angle, frequency, current integration, power integration, efficiency, loss, voltage/current ripple factor, harmonics, electrical noise and many more. Upon completion of analysis the data can then be downloaded onto a PC for analysis using a software package.
