Castle GA241S dBAir Class 2 Safety Sound Level Meter

The Castle GA241S dBAir Class 2 Safety Sound Level Meter can measure sound level between 25dB and 140dB over two different linear ranges (25dB to 115db; 45dB to 140dB). The Class 2 microphone picks up sound at frequencies between 12.5Hz and 16kHz and the user can choose between A, C and Z frequency weighting in addition to fast and slow response times. Dual measurement allows the meter to measure two variables at once and it has been specifically designed for safety at work risk assessments so it can measure Lspl, Leq, Lmax, peak, exposure points and dose.

Readings are shown on the Castle GA241S’ graphical colour display and the instrument is operated via simple menus and clearly-labelled navigation buttons. The user can view multiple variables on screen at any one time and readings are also saved to the large 16GB internal memory.

Stored readings can either be recalled to the instrument’s screen or wirelessly uploaded to the Castle cloud online storage facility via a Wi-Fi connection. It is also possible to perform a direct download to a PC using the supplied USB cable. Results are saved to a spreadsheet format that requires no specialist software to access and the meter can determine an appropriate level of personal ear protection thanks to its HML calculation function.

The Castle GA241S weighs just 480g and can be easily carried around large sites. The battery lasts for approximately 16 hours and the meter is compliant with various regulatory standards including IEC 61672-1:2013, IEC1260-1:2014 and IEC61252:1993 amendment 1.
