Chauvin Arnoux CA5011 True RMS Digital and Analogue Multimeter

The Chauvin Arnoux CA5011 True RMS Digital and Analogue Multimeter is a very useful tool due to an innovative display system and true RMS measurement which makes it suitable for inspecting both sinusoidal and distorted non-linear wave forms. It automatically recognises whether a voltage or current source is AC or DC and can measure voltage to 600V and current to 10A. Measurement is also available for frequency (10kHz) and resistance (40MΩ) with an array of ranges for each measurement parameter to ensure precision whilst accuracy stands at just 0.5% to 1% depending on the parameter. Continuity testing can be carried out with an audible buzzer alarm to help make results clear.

Readings are displayed via the needle on the clear analogue scale (which can be used as a galvanometer) as well as by a backlit digital screen in the centre of the display. An indication of alternating or direct current is provided on the digital screen and data hold allows a reading to be frozen on screen, useful for example if the Chauvin Arnoux CA5011 is facing away from the user during an assessment. A max button also allows the user to record the maximum values for each parameter. Separate LEDs indicate fuse status and show if voltage is present during resistance testing.

The Chauvin Arnoux CA5011’s Multistand™ articulated stand allows it to be stood vertically on different surfaces as well as providing an easy way of storing test leads and test probes. In addition, a shock-proof holster absorbs impacts and the device has a weatherproof rating of IP53. Fuses and double insulation help protect the user and the instrument is rated as safe up to 600V for Cat IV and 1000V for Cat III.

A manufacturer’s warranty guarantees the Chauvin Arnoux CA5011 for three years after purchase and it is supplied with a range of accessories including silicone test leads and test probes.
