Chauvin Arnoux F205 True RMS Clamp Meter

The Chauvin Arnoux F205 is ideal for carrying out advanced troubleshooting on low- to medium-power installations in domestic or commercial settings. It can be used on mixed AC + DC systems as it is capable of measuring AC current (600A), DC current (900A), AC voltage (1000V) and DC voltage (1400V) in addition to resistance and frequency. Continuity and diode testing can be performed with the F205 whilst Inrush current measurement helps capture current spikes during motor start-up phases.

Advanced measurement calculations can be carried out using the Chauvin Arnoux F205. These include two-wire phase rotation detection, harmonics (THDr & THDf) analysis, and peak+ to peak- recording which allows the user to accurately assess any distortion. Min/Max recording and differential/relative calculations complete an in-depth measurement process. This is particularly useful as the data hold function allows the user to go back and look at all these different aspects of a reading rather than simply holding a figure on screen.

Readings are shown on the Chauvin Arnoux F205’s backlit LCD screen and it automatically provides an indication of whether a value is AC or DC. The clamp meter is surprisingly easy to use thanks to an ergonomic design and useful features such as a grooved dial and ‘one button one function’ operability. In fact, the whole meter is designed to be used with just one hand, even when wearing gloves. The 34mm jaw can be worked into tight spaces like switch cabinets and the instrument possesses Cat IV 600V and Cat III 1000V safety certification.
