The FLIR DM91 True RMS Digital Multimeter measures a wide range of electrical parameters including voltage, current, resistance, frequency and capacitance. Each parameter can be assessed to a high degree of accuracy and precision and it is also possible to perform continuity checks and diode tests using the multimeter. It is also useful for the HVAC sector thanks to a temperature measurement range of -40˚C to 400˚C and µA range for testing flame sensors. VFD functionality can be used on variable frequency drives and there is also a low impedance LoZ voltage mode that prevents ghost voltage readings.

The backlit LCD screen on the FLIR DM91 clearly displays digital readouts for all parameters and also features an analogue bar graph which is capable of depicting fluctuating readings dynamically. The test function is selected using the simple dial and the push buttons are used to refine measurements, for example with min/max/avg recording and peak min/max hold. Data hold can be used to manually freeze reading on the screen or auto hold will keep stable readings on the screen. The sizeable internal memory has enough space for 40,000 readings and the multimeter has Bluetooth® connectivity which allows it to communicate readings to a smart device or even match up with a FLIR thermal camera via METERLINK® technology.

The FLIR DM91 is designed to be used in challenging conditions and boasts a comfortable, ergonomic construction with built-in torches for use in poor light. The IP54 protection rating means that the multimeter can withstand splashes of water and even a three-metre drop. A separate non-contact AC voltage detection function warns the user of live voltage presence and the multimeter is rated as Cat IV 300V, Cat III 600V. A limited lifetime warranty covers the instrument against breakdown.
