Fluke 1587/i400 FC Insulation Multimeter Kit

The Fluke 1587/i400 FC Insulation Multimeter Kit is a useful kit which comprises of the Fluke 1587 FC Insulation Multimeter and the Fluke i400 AC Current Clamp in addition to several accessories which allow the user to make the most of the meter and clamp’s excellent insulation and electrical testing capabilities.

The main instrument of the kit is the Fluke 1587 FC which can measure AC/DC voltage up to 1000V, AC/DC current to 400mA, frequency to 99.99kHz, capacitance to 999µF, and temperature between -40˚C to 537˚C as well as performing continuity and diode testing. Furthermore, the instrument can also measure insulation resistance from 0Ω to 2GΩ using test voltages of 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V, and 1000V. Additional features include True RMS measurement for AC values, a low-pass VFD filter, and a choice of ranges and resolutions.

Wireless connectivity via wi-fi and the Fluke Connect App help the user edit and analyse results on smart devices in order to quickly organise and disseminate information. Possibilities include PI/DAR timed ratio tests as well as TrendIt graphs and temperature compensation.

The second main component of the kit is the Fluke i400. This is a safe, clamp-style AC current probe which increases current measurement range up to 400A AC. It is rated Cat IV 600V and Cat III 1000V and boasts a comfortable ergonomic design. The maximum conductor diameter is 32mm and it is both precise and accurate.

The other accessories in the kit include two crocodile clips, two test probes, a remote probe, a type K thermocouple, and red/black test leads. Everything is supplied in a handy hard carry case and constitutes an excellent and versatile electrical measurement tool.
