Fluke 805 FC Vibration Meter

The Fluke 805 FC Vibration Meter is a handheld meter that provides reliable vibration screening for mechanical troubleshooting capable of reputable, severity scaled readings of the overall vibration and bearing condition. The 805 measures the overall vibration as well as specific variables including bearing conditions and temperatures providing the user with a more complete picture of what is happening. The 805 provides consistent data quality at both low (10Hz to 1,000Hz) and high (4,000Hz to 20,000Hz) frequency.

Featuring an innovative sensor design, the Fluke 805 minimises the measurement variations caused by device angle or contract pressure. The Fluke 805 provides users with a fault severity scale with four severity levels allowing for prioritisation of maintenance work and bearing conditions. The easy to use user interface minimises the user input to RPM and equipment type

Crest Factor +

Fluke uses a proprietary algorithm known as Crest Factor + which values range between 1 to 16. As a bearing condition worsens the Crest Factor + value increases. The four step severity scale identifies the bearing health as Good, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory or Unacceptable.

The Fluke 805 uses a coloured lighting system of green and red alongside on screen comments to indicate to the user how much pressure is needed to be applied for measurements to be taken. The incorporated Spot IR Sensor increases the diagnostic capabilities

The 805 Vibration Meter has an IP54 rating offering protection from water and dust ingress and is drop tested up to 1m. The incorporated flashlight further adds to the 805's use in dark environments. Powered by two AA batteries, the user is able to obtain 250 measurements before the batteries need replacing.

Export and Trend in Microsoft® Excel

The Fluke 805 stores up to 3,500 measurements on the on board memory. Each measurement can be further analysed on a PC using Microsoft® Excel with the data transferred via USB.

Using the pre built Microsoft® Excel templates and plot graphs users can track machines health over time in order to trend bearing parameters such as overall vibration, CF+ and temperature. Viewing the trend patterns allows for abnormalities to be spotted and user can have a clear picture of changing bearing condition and deterioration of a machine

Machine Categories the Fluke 805 can measure

  • Chiller (refrigeration): including reciprocating open motor and compressor separately, reciprocating hermetic motor and compressor and centrifugal hermetic or open motor.
  • Fans: belt driven fans 600 to 1799 RPM and 1800 to 3600RPM, general direct drive fans (direct coupled), vacuum blowers (belt or direct drive), large forced draft fans (fluid film brgs), large induced draft fans (fluid film brgs), shaft mounted internal fan (extended motor shaft) and axial flow fans (belt or direct drive)
  • Cooling tower drives: long, hollow drive shaft (motor), belt drive (motor and fan all arrangements) and belt and direct drive (motor and fan- all arrangements)
  • Centrifugal pumps: Vertical pumps 0' to 5 height, 5' to 8' height, 8' to 12' height and 12' to 20' height. Horizontal centrifugal end suction pumps- direct coupled, horizontal centrifugal double suction pumps- direct coupled and boiler feed pumps (turbine or motor driven)
  • Positive Displacement Pumps: positive displacement horizontal piston pumps (under load) and positive displacement horizontal gear pumps (under load)
  • Air compressors: Reciprocating, rotary screw, centrifugal with or without external gearbox, centrifugal – internal gear (axial meas.) and centrifugal – internal gear (radial meas.)

Why not upgrade this product to the Fluke Vibration Tester Package?

If you opt for this package, you will receive both the Fluke 805 Vibration Meter and the Fluke 805 ES External Vibration Sensor.

The Fluke 805 ES External Vibration Sensor deals with situations that the onboard vibration sensor tip of the 805 Vibration Meter struggles to do. For example, the 805/ES allows the user to take measurements in hard-to-reach locations where the standard sensor tip may be unable to navigate. This device processes vibration signals in a range of locations and environments, such as behind machine guards or in out-of-reach places.

The 805 ES connects directly into the heel of the 805 Vibration Meter with its rugged, sealed cable connector, which reduces wear of the cable. The sensor has been ergonomically designed to access most areas, with a 90° sensor body and a powerful 'U' shaped magnet mount which creates a firm connection to flat or curved measurement services.

Fluke part number: FLUKE-805/ES

Key Features of the Fluke 805 ES External Vibration Sensor

  • 90° sensor body which allows the sensor to get into tight spots
  • Rugged, coiled cable which minimises dangling, and can stretch to more than 7ft if needed
  • U-shaped magnet mount which creates a firm connection to all surfaces
  • Rugged cable connector to reduce wear and tear
  • Detachable sensor magnet which allows for direct attachment to a sensor mounting pad, or threaded hole on a piece of equipment
  • Directly connects to the 805 Vibration Meter with an SMB connector located at the heel of the meter
