Megger MFT-X1 Multifunction Tester

The Megger MFT-X1 Multifunction Tester is the first generation of user-upgradable MFTs, adding to Megger’s existing MFT17xx range of multifunction testers. Designed for use on all single or 3-phase domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations, the Megger MFT-X1 boasts a wealth of features, including high resolution 0.001Ω loop testing, automatic volt-drop measurement, stabilised insulation test voltage, configurable RCD and EV auto-sequence tests and much more.

True Loop™

One of the stand-out features of the Megger MFT-X1 is True Loop™ impedance testing, the latest 3-wire non-trip loop testing technology, incorporated with Megger’s patented Confidence Meter. Megger's redesigned True Loop™ loop testing technology offers its users a versatile, reliable, accurate and repeatable loop test solution. It also removes the risk of RCD uplift whilst reducing typical test times. The Confidence Meter™ also aids the user by showing the progress of loop measurement and indicates the presence of noice on the circuit, removing inaccuracies to give stable and consistent results.

Patented Confidence Meter Technology™

All loop impedance ranges are now supported by Meggers Patented Coincidence Meter Technology™. The technology typically reduces the test time for non-trip loop testing to around 7 seconds on quiet circuits. The unit also provides optimised test times for loop impedance testing in noisy supplies. The confidence meter shows any progress of the loop measurement and gives an indication of any noise present on the circuit, which removes any inaccurate values giving the user a stable and consistent result.

High Resolution Loop Impedance Testing

The MFT-X1 has extended the low end of the loop impedance range from 0.01 ohms to 0.001 ohms resolution and 50kA current calculation. Using Meggers patented Confidence Meter™, the True Loop Impedance Measurement makes the low impedance a realistic option, alongside two wire test connections and high current testing.

RCD Custom Testing

RCD testing is now able to be optimised with the RCD test configurator. Testing can be personalised to select a whole suite of tests or elements of the RCD required by the user. Ramp testing can also be added to the sequence which optimises and simplifies testing

EV Charge Point Testing

The MFT-X1 is suitable for both EV charge point installation testing with RCD Type B or RDC protected charge points. Used alongside the Megger EVCA adaptor, The MFT-X1 can test and maintain all known EV chargers.

Stabilised Insulation Test Voltage

The MFT-X1 incorporates a stabilised insulation test voltage which ensure s the output voltage is accurate to within +/-3% +2 digits. Compared to the industry standard of +20%, the MFT-X1provides the user with a more accurate test voltage without the risk of over-voltage damage to any circuits or components.

Current Measurement

Using current clamps for current measurement, alongside the optional Megger MCC1010 Current Clamp, the MFT-X1 can test AC currents from 1mA to 1000A.

User Upgradable

In order to help future-proof your purchase, the MFT-X1 utilises a standard microSD card to allow remote upgrades to firmware and other features without having to purchase a new unit, providing ideal protection from changing regulations or testing requirements. Megger plan to continuously roll out new updates free to the user as well as offering upgrades that opens the MFT-X1 into new future markets. 

Megger  CertSuite™ Software Compatible 

The first fully-integrated instrument for use on the Megger CertSuite™ software platform, the MFT-X1 lets users tag results and transfer them directly to any test certificate or report open on an IOS or Android device running the CertSuite™ App. With a range of certification options and templates to choose from, creating professional certificates and reports on-site is easy. The Certsuite™ software is optimised for testing alongside the MFT-X1 and takes measurements straight from the tester in real time. It even allows for concurrent users testing in different places at the same site. Results can be stored and viewed by remote users, given access rights are assigned. You can rest in the knowledge that your data is stored in the cloud synchronised with your Certsuite™ App.  Access and licence to Megger Certsuite™ software may be chargeable on a monthly or yearly subscription plan. 

Replaceable Li-ION Battery Solution

The Megger MFT-X1 can be powered either the included Megger Li-ION battery pack or using standard NiMH or Alkaline batteries. The rechargeable Li-ION battery can be swapped with the AA carrier module, providing a fast and flexible battery solution.

Design & Interface

Sporting a redesigned interface for a more intuitive working experience, the Megger MFT-X1 features a high contrast 480 x 272 colour display (with monochrome mode) and an enhanced colour-coded test selection rotary dial for ease of use in all lighting conditions. The well known colour-coded dial has now also been replicated on the MFT-X1 display. Hot keys for second level functions are clearly shown across the top of each screen and the second control dial allows users to quickly select any of the highlighted features, even if wearing protective gloves. 
The MFT-X1 clearly displays all relevant information, both before and after the test, in full colour. This also includes the patented Confidence Meter™ progress bar, RCD ramp test progress and insulation and continuity measurement bargraph. 

Graphical Assistance Help Screens

The instrument has inbuilt graphical help screens that provides users with guidance to assist in performing all the measurements available on the MFT-X1.
