FLIR Scout III 240 Wildlife Thermal Camera

The FLIR Scout III 240 Wildlife Thermal Camera is a monocular thermal camera designed for use outdoors. It offers enhanced day and night vision which has multiple applications in the fields of legal hunting, camping, land management and recreation.

The camera can highlight heat patterns produced by animals, motors and human beings thanks to its 240 x 180 pixel VOx thermal sensor which has a thermal sensitivity of 50mK. The image refreshes at a rate of 30Hz and the FLIR Scout III has a range of roughly 350 metres and a field of view of 24˚ x 18˚. The 13mm fixed focus lens always produces a clear image.

Images are shown on the FLIR Scout III’s monocular 480 x 640 pixel LCD display in a clear greyscale. Aside from monochrome, the camera also offers InstAlert which highlights hot things in red or ‘graded fire’ which has scaled oranges and yellows. An image can be frozen on screen using the freeze frame function.

The quick start-up time means there is no need to keep the camera in standby mode and therefore saves the battery (>5-hour battery life). The FLIR Scout III requires no special training to operate and it is simple to pick the imager up and start operations straight away.

A sturdy, weatherproof construction allows the FLIR Scout III 240 to stand up to the rough weather conditions and physical challenges of use out in the countryside. The IP67 rating means it is a submersible instrument. It comes supplied with wrist strap, USB charger and MOLLE bag.
